Handpan Days is an online network dedicated to supporting and strengthening the global handpan community. The project centers around a monthly online Event and invites everyone interested in the handpan to participate for free, including players and listeners.
Each of our Handpan Days offers free educational or artistic events on a donation basis. The topics and formats vary from month to month, ranging from workshops for players to concerts open to the entire community. All workshops, performances, and contributions are offered voluntarily by internationally recognized handpan players and teachers who support the initiative and its mission.
The core purpose of Handpan Days is to draw attention to important developments in the handpan world and to highlight projects that shape the future of the instrument. At present, the main focus lies on supporting the Handpan Community United (HCU) campaign and its ongoing efforts to protect the handpan as a free and accessible instrument.
Handpan Days does not collect or process donations directly. All financial contributions connected to Handpan Days are made exclusively through the official HCU crowdfunding campaign and are directed entirely to that campaign for as long as the legal process continues. The initiative was founded by Malte Marten and his teams at the Malte Marten Method and the Yatao Shop in response to the current lawsuit.
Handpan Days aims to provide global access to knowledge, community driven support for important campaigns, and a professional platform where everyone involved with the handpan, including listeners, players, teachers, and makers, can learn, participate, and stay informed.
